The Bogwitch Creative Review of the Year

Um. Where exactly did 2010 go?

It felt like I was always writing, but the list when I look at it is rather pathetic. In my defence though, I did start a lot of fics this year that I never actually finished, like the way I spent most of November tinkering with a Supernatural Halloween fic (yes, I’m well aware of the late timing) before I got distracted by operations and Christmas crap.

I think RSI and being kept busy at work had a lot to do with the lack of creativity and the mammoth task that was redressing my website took a lot of my time. As did the creation and running of the prompt community sb_fag_ends. Plus having no beta anymore made me sad. Come back myfeetshowit!

The full list for 2010:

BtVS and AtS

Never Bet the Devil Your Head (BtVS)
A bit of Spike/Buffy naked hijinks.

Distraction (BtVS)
Buffy at the zoo, although her head goes to other, more pleasurable places.

Eight Legs and Legacies (BtVS/AtS)
World Cup fic! In that I find the octopus (RIP) more interesting than the football.

Winter’s Kiss (BtVS)
Buffy loves the snow, even if no one else does.

Daddy’s Girl (BtVS)
Spike at his daughter’s wedding.

Mixed Up (BtVS)
The Spike 'n' Buffy Mixtape Blues

Supernatural

Jamie’s got a Gun (Supernatural)
Jamie (from Monster Movie) shot a man today… (Sort of Jamie/Dean)

Mirror Men (Supernatural)
Three men. One Car. Lifetimes reflected in the Impala’s rear view mirror.

Flipping the Bird (Supernatural)
Penguin nonsense, Supernatural style.

What it Takes (Supernatural)
It takes a special person to love a world that doesn’t love them back.

Drabbles

Size Always Matters (BtVS)
Of course it does.

But it Says 'The Mall' on the Map... (BtVS)
Buffy’s lost. Spike isn’t helping.

Smash and Grab (Dark Angel)
Max/Alec challenge drabble

Plus:

More Working My Way Back to You (BtVS).

There was none. The computers were playing up.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

It’s always less, isn’t it?

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2010?

That I am still producing new Spike/Buffy fic rather than finishing off all those I started.

What's your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?

Of the ones I posted, probably Never Bet the Devil Your Head because I’m pleased I could do the prompt, but my real favourite is the Halloween SPN fic I haven’t finished.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

I joined spnland to try to raise my SPN profile. It didn’t really make a lot of difference.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Same as last year and the year before that etc, etc: Working to be finished (I’m getting very close now, give me another couple years…) and the Black Widow sequel to be done.

I also have a feeling there’ll be Vampire Diaries fic before 2011 is out.

From my past year of writing, what was...

My Best Story: Mixed Up?

Story Most under-appreciated by the Universe: My Dark Angel drabble.

Most fun: Flipping the Bird.

Most disappointing: Working My Way Back to You yet again unfinished.

Most sexy: None of them have any actual sex in, but Never Bet the Devil Your Head has nudity and sexy thoughts.

Story With a Single Sexy Moment: As above.

Hardest to Write: Working My Way Back to You as always.

Most Unintentionally Telling: Size Always Matters.
