Writing Meme 2006

As the chances of me writing another fic this year are very slim, I think I'll sum up with this writing meme that's been around.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

On the surface, less, but when I look at it, I've written two stories that are much longer than usual, so it worked out about the same as usual. Business as normal then.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2005?

Lordi fic? Wesley/Fred?

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?

Probably The Heartstone, but there is a soft spot for Always too.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

Black Widow! I'm not usually one for writing sex-fests, but hey. What did I learn? Only that if you want a fic to do well, put lots of sex in it.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Working to be finished! More Illyria.

From my past year of writing, what was...

My Favorite Story: The Heartstone.

My Best Story: Toughie. I'd say The Heartstone, I think everyone else would say Black Widow.

Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe: Working My Way Back to You probably.

Most fun: What to write? (Black Widow) or most humourous? (Either The Heartstone or Good Lordi).

Most disappointing: Damn Kids. I didn't have the time to give it the full attention it needed. Or maybe Perspectives, I keep forgetting I've written that.

Most sexy: Black Widow (not much competition there)

Story With a Single Sexy Moment: Black Widow? or Mercury?

Hardest to Write: Working My Way Back to You by a mile.

Most Unintentionally Telling: Er...Black Widow. But only in that says something about my brain, not my sexlife. :S

The full list for 2006:

The Heartstone A pissed off witch forces Spike and Buffy into a new and disturbing level of intimacy.
Good Lordi Eurovision Song Contest/Buffy crossover. Oh yes.
Working My Way Back to You (a bit of it anyway) a not-abandoned WIP.

Shock horror, I might actually do this meme later... though my list will be a bit pitiful. (I made a list last year, and it's been incredibly useful to have all the links in one place - being me, the list is naturally not that far back in my journal.) I am still holding out hope for tomorrow, though. ;)

I think I'd class The Heartstone as 'better' than Black Widow too, though Black Widow was definitely fun. (You should make your crossed-through summary the official one. It's great!)

Yeah, I did that list too. It's interesting to compare.

I'll wait for your list with baited breath.

I spent a lot longer on The Heartstone, lovingly polishing it!

>>You should make your crossed-through summary the official one. It's great!

Nah, it fits the sequel better.

I have a feeling this one's going to be much shorter.

Your puns astound me.

I'd forgotten about the sequel! It sounds scintillatiing.

They'll be a sequel if I can get back into a writing groove again. I seem to have lost it recently.

I can't remember if I ever had a groove, but considering I once managed to produce something multi-chaptered, it must have existed.

I think life's got harder... or I neglect it less now.

I'd love to be able to write reems of stuff, but it just doesn't come.

Life has got more expensive.

Still, it means people remember your stuff, instead of it all blurring together.

Stupid life.

I'm not convinced they do half the time.

Somehow I had no idea that you'd written this much this year. I've tagged it for later perusal.

Neither had I. I think the five from the last month boosted the numbers somewhat!
