More doom and gloom

Got a Redundancy "estimate" today. Looks like it'll be about 6 months wages, but I have to stay to the bitter end (March or May).
I want that!
My credit card wants it!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if I'm sensible I'll get a new job first.

Choices... Choices...

Good luck. Six months is pretty good though.

It's certainly tempting. I'll decide in January when I speak to the agencies. It took me 11 months to find a permanent job last time, so I'm a little anxious about taking the risk. Don't mind leaving though, I need a much better job.

Six months is darn good. It'll give you a reasonable safety buffer so plan ahead and dust off the CV and get the head-hunters working for you.

get the head-hunters working for you.

They took their sweet time when I was redundant before. Problem is I have to stay to get the money. I need to balance that with the job hunt to maximise the benefit.

Timing, as they say, is everything.

Oh! Well, six month's pay is good. Having to stay until bitter end is bad (done that - fun it wasn't). But after that - time off is good. Credit card very, very bad. Holiday very, very good. Stuff credit card. Take holiday. You'll find another job, woman of your talents.

Well, at least you know where you stand now, so that has to be to the good.

Personally, I think you should take the money, have a break from work, and write more snarky Spike...

Thanks, 6 months pay when you're paid a pittance isn't all that great, but it's a nice little sum. I haven't had a holiday in years, and an exotic one (well, Austria) for about 13. No huge credit card debt. These things would be wonderful.

Personally, I think you should take the money, have a break from work, and write more snarky Spike...

Well, we'll see about the break. I don't think it's that wise, time to write Spike or no. Speaking of snarky Spike - watch your inbox.
