Short Cuts

I'VE BEEN ATTACKED!

Bloody scissor-happy hairdresser! I wanted a couple of inches off and she's hacked off half my hair!

::Meep::

At least I have soundingsea's lovely caramels to cheer me up! Thank you, so, so much for the thought! They are looovveely. I am keeping them all for me.

Oh and ladyoneill wrote my ficlet request. Spike/Tara/Buffy at the solstice Kiss of Peace. Thank you!

People have been so nice this year, I feel a little embarrassed. Thank you!

Sorry, this is turning into an acceptance speech.

::wibble::

So finally, I like to thank my family for being so supportive. And the cat. And best friends, And the postman for the post, I couldn't have done it without you...

You guys are the greatest!!

::sob sob::

Ack! Hair trauma!

At least it will grow back, eventually. But still, I know that pain.

Glad the caramels helped, at least. I figured they'd be a nice surprise. :)

Very surprizing, thank you!

Especially as I had to hike across town in the rain to the post office to retrieve them (don't worry, I was picking up something else too).

Why do hairdressers do it? I'd been growing my hair for years and was getting nowhere, because the hairdresser kept chopping. A year after I stopped getting it cut, it was halfway down my back.

Aw...I bet your hair looks fine. You just need to get used to it.
I'm trying to be the voice of reason, but I think I sound like a Pollyanna. Anyway, I'm sure it's not bad at all. Unless, you literally mean she hacked off half of your hair...like, the left half or something.

I need to get my hair cut as well. It's really long right now. I've been wanting to try out this one place that does Asian hair really well. Only problem is that everyone just speaks Japanese. My best friend and sister went and they had really good cuts. They said they were reeeally nervous because they were communicating with hand signals and lots of pointing. Wonder if it'll be 3 for 3 or if my cut will strike out.

Also, I see you're feeling the love right now. Heh, I had a similar "I love my FL" post a few weeks ago. Must be going around.

It looks okay, but i didn't spend months and months growing it for nothing!

You laugh, but this did happen to me once, when my previous hairdresser tried going all experimental and attempted this asymetrical style that left me lop-sided.

It'll be an interesting experience if nothing else.

Seee...it probably looks better than okay. I always find I'm disappointed because it never looks like how I imagine it would look in my mind. As long as you don't have bangs that are too short, it's never that bad.

Recently? I had a cut like that in the 80s.

Yeah, now that I'm on holidays, I'll actually have time to make an appointment.

It does look alright, it just isn't what I had in mind.

I assume you mean fringe. I have no fringe, I hate them (on me) and my mother keeps going on about me having them, so that's a no no for a start!

Yep, that was the 80's too.

I'm so sorry! I know it's no comfort thinking it will grow out, but that's pretty much all that helped me when I went through it.
Mine were 30 cm gone in one clip of the hated shears.

I was at least aiming to go shorter (not this short though), but it very traumatic to see all of it gone, I agree.

It's always the complete opposite for me. I mustn't look daring enough.

I had a very tramatic dream last night, where they gave me a crew cut. At least it wasn't that bad.

Heh. You and your dreams! *g*

Hairdressers are the spawn of Satan. I know. Everytime I let one of them have a go, I need at least 6 months to recover from the shock!

At least it's winter. You can cover up with hats and shawls and stuff.

It doesn't look that bad, it's just not what i asked for, again.

Hairdressers are the spawn of Satan

Or they sold their souls for the skills to cut hair.

I have finally found someone who I trust completely with my hair...my sister learned how to cut hair! And mine is long and straight with no real style except to keep the ends trimmed, so it is not that difficult. Sorry to hear your length is gone.

I don't have a sister, unfortunately. Now I have lived with it a bit though, i like it.

I don't think I could live without my sister. Sometimes I don't think I have any other friends than her...RL that is...and not work related. Glad to know it has grown on you so to speak. I have only cut mine short once, and have sworn that will never happen again. I toyed with the idea of just below my chin earlier this year, but I wasn't brave enough for that.

I was going to get some length off anyway.
